recommends that we try and lose from our emotions and attempt to be honest with ourselves. Forget about your ex for a moment, and think about the rough times, about why you both caused the split up in the initially.
Discover what others, in particular friends and family, give thought to the reasons for your split.
It’s very important that you’re open with yourself and take some responsibility for the split. It’s important that you make your friends know that they must not pull any punches about you let alone your ex.
You have to get a third person opinion of yourself, without your preconceptions. It’s difficult, but you have to get them to point out your weaknessess as well as your ex partner’s.
You need to decide whether or not you can change how you are, even if you’re convinced that you’re not to blame.
Cease all contact with your ex partner for a bit.

Texting is a fantastic way to communicate, but it’s inappropriate during this time .
Instead let four to six weeks go by, then suggest a meet someplace neutral (the book goes into some detail here), and just have a gentle talk.It’s absolutely imperitive that you don’t look as if you’re begging them to come back, just explain that you’ve had to change, take some responsibility for the break uo, and suggest another go.
Secondly, the same thing but the other way around – consider whether your ex partner will want to try again, particularly if it was them who wanted the breakup and you want to have another try.
If you get together again, be certain to take steps to avoid falling into the same old routine as before, where you just “rub along” together.
Problem is, this can lead one of you to look for new pasture, leaving the other out in the cold. It might be that taking each other for granted was the reason why the relationship failed the first time.
